Coelacanthimorpha/Actinistia are an order of fossil lobe-finned fishes within the clade Sarcopterygii that have been found across every continent. Although once very diverse, the majority of coelacanths are identified in fossil form; however, there are two existing species that belong to the genus Latimeria. Common features of these fish include muscular paired fleshy fins, pelvic and pectoral girdle fins, and enamel coated teeth.
