Metadata is known as “data that gives information about other data”. Metadata can give us insight into the processes used to produce this data, information on other aspects of the data (source, type, etc), and more.

For our metadata, we have divided the data into classes as shown. Using these divisions we are able to compare and contrast various features and properties of these bile acid to find similarities, differences, patterns, and more. Although all these organisms produce bile acids, their life styles, traits, diets, etc. are vastly different from one another. While it is important to produce data, it is also important to understand where our data comes from and the species behind them.
